Emotional Wellness Course Available

The Continuing Education Department at Lone Star College-Kingwood is offering an 8-week interactive course designed to increase emotional health.  Alysha Roll, licensed Clinical Social Worker and board approved supervisor, will lead the class.

The course will cover topics such as stress management and relaxation.  You will have the opportunity to evaluate your strengths, learn problem solving, goal setting and time management, and communication skills.  The class is also designed to improve self esteem.  "Everyone could use some help enhancing their self-care skill set," remarked Roll.

Roll has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Women's Studies and a Masters degree in Social Work.  Her experience includes helping people cope with issues such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss, life transition issues, self-esteem problems, stress management, substance abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault.  Currently, she has a private practice in Kingwood where she offers counseling to individuals, couples and families.

Students will have two opportunities to attend this course.  Classes will be offered both day and evening beginning September 5.  If you would like additional information about this course, visit kingwood.lonestar.edu/ce or call 281-312-1660.
