LSCS SBDC to hold e-Marketing workshop

(March 15, 2010) – The Lone Star College System’s Small Business Development Center will be holding a half-day workshop on March 23 to cover Social Media strategies.

The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at LSC-North Harris, located at 2700 W.W. Thorne Drive in north Houston.

The theme of the event is “Increasing Sales Through the Latest e-Marketing Techniques” and it will feature experts who will explain Social Media strategies for small businesses – including services like Twitter, Facebook YouTube and LinkedIn, as well as blogging techniques and how to devise an overall e-mail campaign strategy to help businesses grow.

“These sessions are ideally suited for the small to medium business owners and entrepreneurs, and anyone else who is interested in learning more about this growing phenomenon of Social Media,” said Sal Mira, director of the LSCS SBDC.

“We’ll have industry experts presenting these topics in a way that will help businesses create an effective e-Marketing strategy,” Mira said.

The first session, from 8-10 a.m., will be presented by Amy E. Tinsley, regional development director for Constant Contact, and it will cover “The Power of E-Mail Marketing for Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurs.” From 10 a.m. to noon, Silva Yenneti, director of business Web solutions and marketing for ITVibes Inc., will present a session entitled “Social Media Marketing for Small Business.”

The entire seminar will cost $39 if paid before March 16 and then $49 thereafter. To register and pay by check or credit card, call Maria Partida at 832.813.6674.
