Whether you’re interested in a rewarding career as a Massage Therapist or just stressed out and need a massage, Lone Star College-CyFair can help.

“Schedule a 60-minute summer massage for just $25 at LSC-CyFair and not only do you get a relaxing massage,” said Continuing Education (CE) Program Manager Terri Hill, “but you give our Massage Therapy Program students the opportunity to earn credit hours needed to be eligible to take the state or national board exam to become a massage therapist at the end of the summer.”

Massages will be offered Monday through Thursday only, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. starting Wednesday, May 19 through Thursday, Aug.19. Call 832.482.1022 or e-mail cfmtherapy@lonestar.edu to schedule an appointment.

“For those who would like to start a new career in less than a year, LSC-CyFair’s Massage Therapy Program prepares you to become a massage therapist in a spa/fitness center or even to start your own practice,” said Hill.

In the Massage Therapy Program offered through CE,  students learn business practices and professional standards as well as health and hygiene in massage and more. Students also receive training to gain a healthy, stress-free lifestyle with basic massage techniques and therapy continuing education courses. Among the program admission requirements are: Be at least 18 years of age; hold a high school diploma or GED; have no criminal record within the last five years and be in good general health.

The next information session at LSC-CyFair for Massage Therapy and other CE health occupations will be held June 16. Go online to LoneStar.edu/massage-therapy for fall program and registration information.
