SecondStart classes at LSC-Tomball Give Students More Options

If Aug. 30 was just too soon to start classes this fall, SecondStart classes at Lone Star College-Tomball are available starting as early as Sept. 8 or as late as Oct. 25. Shorter than the traditional 16-week semester and intended to accommodate most anyone's schedule, the classes feature anything from a slightly-shortened 14-week semester, to an intense and fast-paced three-week sprint through the coursework.

More than 70 SecondStart classes are available at LSC-Tomball this fall and will be offered in the following areas: Accounting, Biology, Business/Management, Computer Information Technology, Drama, Economics, Electrician, Engineering Design, Engineering Technology, English, Environmental Science, Government, History, Humanities, Kinesiology, Mathematics, Pharmacy Technology, Psychology, and Sociology.

SecondStart classes are available days, evenings, or weekends at LSC-Tomball and LSC-University Park, as well as in online and hybrid formats.

Even though some classes may not start for several months, and registration may be available up until the first day of class, it is recommended that those interested register as soon as possible. Record enrollments at LSC-Tomball have resulted in an incredibly high-demand for classes and the limited number of seats fill quickly.

  • Current and recently enrolled students can register by telephone at 281.591.6625 or online at LoneStar.edu/registration.
  • New students can apply for admission online (lonestar.edu/admissions) or at the LSC-Tomball or LSC-University Park campuses
