Lone Star College-Kingwood had representation at the Students in Free Enterprise Team Training Conference Oct. 16. The college sent five SIFE members, Erin Adams, Michael Alpha, Lisa OíConnor, Elizabeth Tilton and Paulo Viertons, to the conference in Richardson where they followed different tracks in learning the basics of the organization, project management and officer training.
The LSC-Kingwood SIFE Team will complete projects, with the cooperation and assistance of Kingwood area organizations, related to entrepreneurship, financial literacy, personal success skills, environmental sustainability, market economics and business ethics. Current projects are an environmental beach clean-up, raising funds for United Nations Childrenís Fund (UNICEF) to provide clean water for children and Letís Can Hunger.
SIFE is a global non-profit organization made up of 1,600 teams on college and university campuses worldwide. There are approximately 700 SIFE Teams in the United States. Its mission is to bring together the top leaders of today and tomorrow to create a better and more sustainable world through the positive power of business.
