Join “People’s Lawyer” Richard Alderman on campus Feb. 15 for a free community People's Law School

Get to know your rights with the “People’s Lawyer” Richard Alderman and other University of Houston Law Center professors at a free People’s Law School event set Feb. 15 at Lone Star College-CyFair.

Alderman appears regularly as the “People’s Lawyer” on radio and television, is author of the 8th edition of the book “Know Your Rights” and has a syndicated newspaper column also titled “Know Your Rights.”  Currently the associate dean at the University of Houston Law Center and holder of the Dwight Olds Chair in Law, he also serves as the director of the Center for Consumer Law. The American Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas have also honored Alderman twice with their highest honor for his work in educating the public about the law.

Seating is limited and online registration starting Feb. 7 is required at www.peopleslawyer.net. Community members can choose to attend two of the three presentations – consumer law, family law or credit and debt collection – set from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Conference Center at LSC-CyFair, located at 9191 Barker Cypress.

This free event is presented by the University of Houston Law Center - Center for Consumer Law and sponsored by the LSC-CyFair Branch Library and LSC-CyFair Branch Friends of the Library.
