LSC-Tomball to host Merit Badge University for Boy Scouts

The Orion District of the Boy Scouts of America will hold its Merit Badge University at Lone Star College-Tomball (LSC-Tomball) on Saturday, Feb. 19 in the Beckendorf Conference Center.

At the Merit Badge University, merit badge counselors will offer their time, experience and knowledge to help the Boy Scouts obtain merit badges in over 25 subjects, ranging from Chemistry and Indian Lore to Leatherwork and Photography.

Check-in begins at 8:15 a.m., and the opening ceremony begins at 9 a.m. The day will conclude with a closing ceremony at 4:15 p.m. Pre-registration is required at oriondistrict.org.

The Boy Scouts of America program is designed to build character, teach the responsibilities of citizenship and develop personal fitness. Boy Scouts achieve advancement in rank by earning merit badges.
