The new bookkeeping certificate at Lone Star College-Kingwood offers a fast track to a new career. Graduating students will be prepared to start in an entry-level accounting position.
This one-year certificate is designed for people who are interested in positions in payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable. Many small companies employ people to do the basic accounting functions covered by this certificate.
Students will learn accounting theory as well as Excel and other computerized accounting software programs. The accounting classes required are: Introduction to Accounting, Introduction to Computerized Accounting, Principles of Accounting, and the Accounting Cooperative.

Registration for the spring semester and December mini-mester is going on now. Students can register in one of three ways: phone, online or on campus. Classes are offered days, evenings, or weekends in traditional, Internet, video, TV and independent study formats. Current students can register by telephone at 281-519-6625.
