Earn a bachelor’s degree in business at LSC-Atascocita Center

Earning a bachelor’s degree in business at a local community college is now a reality!

Through a joint partnership between the new Lone Star College-Atascocita Center and the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD), current and potential students can now earn a Bachelor’s in Business Administration degree in General Business entirely at LSC-Atascocita Center. Through UHD, this program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools
of Business (AACSB), the professional accrediting body for business programs.

Anyone interested in obtaining more information on how to earn their bachelor’s degree close to home is invited to attend an all day Open House event on Tuesday, July 26 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. at the LSC-Atascocita Center, the new satellite campus of LSC-Kingwood. It is located at 15903 West Lake Houston Parkway.

All interested students are encouraged to bring their transcripts and speak with advisors and admissions counselors to find out how this program can benefit them. In addition, financial aid information and class schedules will be provided.

“Lone Star College-Kingwood is reaching out to the community to bring the attainment of a bachelor’s degree conveniently to the local area through its new satellite center,” said Dr. Elizabeth Chapman, dean of Business, Technology and Social Sciences (BTSS) at LSC-Kingwood. “Representatives of both institutions will be at the open house to answer questions about the program, explain the enrollment process and show people how they can begin pursuing their college education.”

The BBA in General Business degree will give students an overview of the principles of modern business including accounting, management and basic communication skills. Once students complete their core-courses through Lone Star College, they will then begin taking required classes for the BBA program offered through UHD at the LSC-Atascocita Center. Some of those courses include legal environment of business, statistical analysis for business applications, commercial law, small business finance, introduction to supply chain, entrepreneurship, and more. General core classes and BBA courses will be offered beginning fall 2011.
