Free Fall L.I.F.E. Workshops Kick Off in September

Begin fall with a sketching artist, award-winning author, bones doctor and star-gazing professor at the upcoming September workshops.

Lone Star College-CyFair’s Learning, Inspiration, Fellowship, and Enrichment (L.I.F.E.) programs are free and held Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the library (Room 131 unless otherwise noted) at 9191 Barker Cypress.

  • Sept. 7 — Etch a Sketch
Artist and Professor Tony Kram demonstrates the art of sketching a portrait.
  • Sept. 14 — The Indian American Experience in Literature
Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, an award-winning author, will discuss her Gulf Coast Reads title, “One Amazing Thing.” A book signing follows in Center for the Arts Recital Hall 102.
  • Sept. 21 — Beyond Calcium
Keeping bones strong and healthy can be a challenge in today's sedentary society. Dr. Chase Hayden of the Hayden Institute gives some alternative ways to improve bone density and avoid breaks.
  • Sept. 28 — When You Wish Upon a Star
Join Professor Ronnie Nespeca for a little virtual stargazing and amateur astronomy. Learn how the heroes of Greek mythology received a place in the heavens in memory of their deeds.
