The business field is ripe with career opportunities and Lone Star College-Kingwood will help you find your niche.
The LSC-Kingwood business department will offer a free business information session entitled, "The Boss...The Head Honcho...The Big Cheese...Becoming a Manager Has to Start Somewhere" on Tuesday, August 5, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the Teaching Theatre of Classroom Building A.
The session will cover jobs currently available with corresponding salaries. Representatives from the business department will be on hand to answer questions and help students one-on-one with degree planning, registration and financial aid. Refreshments will be served.
Staci Tabor, associate professor of business and organizer of this event, says, "This will be a one stop shop for students looking to start a career in business. We will cover many different career opportunities, go over job prospects and salaries and assist students in finding the fit that's right for them."
Students in the LSC-Kingwood business program can pursue associate degrees or certificates in accounting, business, legal office technology, medical office technology, professional office technology, management and marketing, and logistics.
The field of accounting continues to grow and with the associate of applied science degree in accounting, job opportunities abound as ledger accountants, internal auditors or trainees for technical accounting positions.
For those interested in management, an associate of applied science degree in management or one of the five certificates will prepare you for a host of careers. Certificates are offered in general business, human resources, international business, marketing and small business management. Jobs in the field include middle-management positions, first-line supervisor, management trainee, transportation manager, real estate property manager or retail store manager.
