Free AARP Tax Preparation Services at Lone Star College-Conroe Center



Lone Star College-Conroe Center, in conjunction with the AARP Foundation, is making it easier for community members to prepare and file their taxes.
 
AARP Tax Aide is stationed at the LSC-Conroe Center campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-4 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., from now until Tuesday, April 17.  
 
The LSC-Conroe Center is located at 777 Conroe Park North Drive in Conroe, approximately two and a half miles east of I-45 off FM 3083.
 
AARP Tax Aide is the nation’s largest free, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service, providing free tax preparation and e-filing services for taxpayers with low- to moderate-income, with special attention being given to those age 60 and over. Volunteers are trained to assist in filing the 1040 tax form and basic schedules. For more information about the seasonal AARP Tax Aide program, visit www.aarp.org/taxaide.  
 
According to the Internal Revenue Service’s website, taxpayers have until April 17, 2012, to file their 2011 tax returns.
 
Now a full-service college campus, the LSC-Conroe Center offers a full range of credit courses, workforce certificates, continuing education programs, and GED certification. In addition, the campus offers student success services such as financial aid and tutoring, as well as a bookstore, library, and testing center.
