Anyone interested in obtaining their associate’s, bachelor’s or graduate degrees are invited to attend Lone Star College-Kingwood’s Transfer Fair.
The free college fair will take place on Thursday, March 8 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Student-Conference Center. The event will host colleges and universities across the state that are interested in helping people meet their academic goals.
“LSC-Kingwood is committed to helping our students make the transfer from community college to a four-year university a smooth transition. Instead of having students contact each school we wanted to bring the schools to them,” said Nicole Keenan, director of Admissions and Outreach for LSC-Kingwood.
LSC-Kingwood has held this event on campus for the past two years. At the transfer fair, representatives from approximately 30 institutions will provide information on transfer admissions, student services, financial aid and more. Students are encouraged to bring copies of their transcripts to discuss transfer options and on the spot advising will be available. The college will have unofficial transcripts available for students who need them.
Participating colleges and universities are Lamar University, North American College, Our Lady of the Lake, Sam Houston State University, St. Thomas University, Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas A&M University, Texas Chiropractic College, Texas State University, Texas Southern University, University of Houston, UH-Victoria, UH-Downtown, University of Maryland University College, University of Texas-Arlington, UT-Austin, UT-Dallas, UT-M.D. Anderson, and UT-San Antonio.
“This transfer fair will give students and the public an opportunity to shop around, examine several options, collect transfer material, speak with a representative and make a decision on what school suits their needs,” Keenan said.
