LSC-North Harris Paralegal Studies program hosts information session on Jan. 8

The ABA Approved Lone Star College-North Harris Paralegal Studies program will host an information session on Wednesday, January 8, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in ACAD-126, located at 2700 W.W. Thorne Drive in Houston. Prospective students with an interest in a paralegal career are invited to attend this free event.

Paralegals are trained to assist attorneys in such legal services as drafting legal documents, conducting legal research and factual investigations, and interviewing clients and witnesses. All work is done under the direct supervision of a lawyer.

Program director, Marcy Delesandri, will speak about the program and several graduates who are now employed in the field will talk about their experiences with the profession.

“Paralegals are in high demand in this area, and it is a fulfilling career that can open the door to many opportunities,” said Delesandri. “We offer both a certificate and associate degree program, with flexible classes to fit a variety of schedules.

The program offers a two-year AAS degree in paralegal studies and a one year certificate for those who already possess an associate or bachelor’s degree in any subject.

The spring semester begins on January 13, and registration is currently underway. Prospective students may receive program information by emailing marcy.delesandri@LoneStar.edu prior to coming to the information session.

The LSC-North Harris Paralegal Studies program is ABA approved, and will produce successful paralegals who exercise a high level of expertise, ethics, and professional responsibility. Students will become lifelong learners with the ability to adapt to the changing legal environment.
