LSC-North Harris selects 2013-2014 Faculty Excellence Award Winners

Lone Star College-North Harris recently recognized four outstanding leaders in the classroom as recipients of the 2013-2014 Faculty Excellence Award. The winners, selected from faculty, staff and student nominations are David Dahnke, professor of English for speakers of other languages; Norma Drepaul, reference librarian/professor; Dr. Robert Locander, professor of political science; and Michael McFarland, professor of English.

Prior to the selection, each candidate participated in a series of evaluations and reviews by the Faculty Excellence Awards Committee (FEAC). Recipients were chosen based on their proven ability to go above and beyond, and achieve professional excellence at LSC-North Harris.

“The Lone Star College-North Harris Faculty Excellence Awards recognize and honor outstanding faculty members and their essential role in the college. Quality teaching and innovative learning are the hallmark of the college, and these professors demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning,” said Dr. Steve Head, LSC-North Harris president.

The winners will be formally recognized at the Lone Star College System Employee Service Awards Ceremony in the spring. In addition, they will be honored by the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD).
