L.I.F.E. Talks in June Range from Books to Bake Offs

Lone Star College-CyFair’s weekly programs this June include discussions on the summertime books, Hindi culture, cattle ranching and baking contests.

L.I.F.E. WorkshopsThe Learning, Inspiration, Fellowship, and Enrichment (L.I.F.E.) programs are free and held Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the library (Room 131 unless otherwise noted) at 9191 Barker Cypress.

  • June 3 - Cool Summer Reads
    Blue Willow Book Shop owner Valerie Koehler gives us the inside scoop  on some of her favorite new summertime books. Launching the library’s Summer Reading Program (SRP)
  • June 10 -  Eat, Live, Dance
    Usha Dontheraju is back to immerse us in Hindi culture featuring Indian cooking and dancing Bollywood style.
  • June 17 - Life on a Mexican Cattle Ranch
    Gordon Rottman shares some amazing experiences on a Mexican cattle ranch. Travel back in time to the 1880s with us.
  • June 24 -  Pillsbury Bake Off
    Cupcake queen Pam Panettiere reveals a simpler time when cooks wore frilly aprons and entered baking contests. Relive the heyday of these delicious competitions and sample some winning concoctions.
