Discovery College at Lone Star College is ready to open a world of learning for children this summer, covering a wide range of interests.
“Discovery College is a great chance for kids to explore things that interest them and make new friends who have similar interests,” said Dr. Stephen C. Head, LSC chancellor. “Discovery College also helps introduce children to the community college experience which can benefit them later in life.”
Children have a unique opportunity to learn and develop skills in architecture, fashion design, game design, Lego engineering and much, much more. Students will also have the chance to discover STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)-based camp experiences.
Registration for the popular Discovery College at LSC summer camp is taking place now. One-week camps begin each Monday, June 13 – 30 and July 11 – 14.
Courses are taught by knowledgeable instructors in a welcoming environment and are offered to children ages 6 – 17. Cost of tuition starts at $97 per week.
Discovery College summer camp, held at LSC-CyFair, LSC- Kingwood, LSC-Montgomery, LSC-Tomball and LSC-University Park, offers an assortment of entertaining and instructive programs that give children a unique opportunity to be introduced to the college experience.
In addition to science, technology, engineering and math-based programs, as well as the performing arts, Discovery College students can also learn to prepare for ACT/SAP tests.
Not all classes are offered at all college campuses. Visit LoneStar.edu/DiscoveryCollege to register your child and find specific information on sessions offered at each.
