Lone Star College recognized for marketing excellence

Lone Star College received 16 District 4 Medallion Awards from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) organization during its recent conference.

The NCMPR District 4 Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in design and communication at community and technical colleges.

“An important part of helping our students succeed is making sure we communicate with them in a meaningful way,” said Emily deMilliano, executive director, Marketing. “Being honored by this organization is a testament to the incredible work of our marketing and communication departments.”

Lone Star College was awarded District 4 Medallion Gold Awards in the following categories: Fundraising Campaign, Social Media or Online Marketing Campaign, Print Ad (series), Logo Design, College Promotional Brand Video, and Microsite. LSC also received District 4 Medallion Silver and Bronze Awards for: Academic Catalog, Class Schedule, and Notes, Cards and Invitations (single or series).

The NCMPR consists of seven districts throughout the U.S. and Canada. District 4 is comprised of colleges from Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming. Nationally, the NCMPR provides regional and national conferences, webinars, a summer institute and connections to a network of more than 1,600 colleges across the country.

In addition to the nine awards received by the Lone Star College-System Office, LSC-Kingwood and LSC-Montgomery also were recognized for outstanding marketing. LSC-Kingwood won Silver and Bronze Awards for: Flier, Single and Original Photography (Manipulated), Postcard and Logo Design, and LSC-Montgomery won Gold Awards for: Communication Success Story, Computer-Generated Illustration and E-Cards.

“Lone Star College continues to be a leader in all aspects of higher education and will keep looking for new ways to tell all the incredible stories that take place in our classrooms and at our colleges,” said deMilliano.
