LSC-Montgomery and Brighton Academy team up to offer on-campus childcare services

“We provide a safe and clean environment, and offer age appropriate activities to stimulate imagination and compel children to explore and learn.”

Lone Star College-Montgomery and Brighton Academy have joined forces to offer on-campus childcare services beginning this fall. Brighton Academy utilizes research based curriculum, promotes a love for community service, and encourages child growth through play and caring communication.

“We are pleased to offer childcare services on our campus, providing additional support to parents who are balancing their studies and taking care of their children,” said Dr. Rebecca Riley, president of LSC-Montgomery. “We hope this service alleviates some of the stressors for student-parents by providing a high-quality childcare facility on our campus that is safe and affordable.”

Brighton Academy will occupy space in Building A – Commons from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, during the fall and spring semesters. Full-time and hourly schedules are available for children ages 18 months to Pre-Kindergarten.

“It is our privilege to team up with LSC-Montgomery and offer a much needed service for their students, employees and the community-at-large,” said Brandi Watterson, owner of Brighton Academy. “We provide a safe and clean environment, and offer age appropriate activities to stimulate imagination and compel children to explore and learn.”

Brighton Academy utilizes a parent communication application program to keep parents connected to their children. The app provides parents with pictures and allows childcare staff to convey valuable information to parents. Parents will also receive a report after checking their child out for the day listing the child’s eating, sleeping and potty behavior.
