L.I.F.E. WorkshopsStop by Wednesday mornings in May for crafts, color choices in clothing, cooking, writing and fitness at Lone Star College-CyFair’s free workshops.

The Learning, Inspiration, Friendship and Enrichment (L.I.F.E.) programs are held Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the library (LRNC room 131 unless otherwise noted) at 9191 Barker Cypress.

  • May 2 — April Showers Bring May Flowers
    Budding decorations! Leah Stark and Nicole Gibson lead a craft program in creating stunning paper flowers for centerpieces or design accents.
     
  • May 9 — The Kaleidoscopic Power of Color
    Forget the old winter, spring, summer, and fall color choices. Find out about new color trends for the fall and winter. Lauren Battistini of LFB Color explores the color wheel and a bit of theory to help you mix and match wardrobe or accessory colors in fresh and unconventional ways.
     
  • May 16 — Theraband Fitness
    You can take your fitness band with you anytime, anywhere. Lisa Brashier, professor of kinesiology, leads us in some simple, fast, and effective exercises for strength and flexibility.
     
  • May 23 — Writing Workshop: Mistakes Writers Make
    Writing a book or wish to? Learn some pitfalls and mistakes and how to avoid them with writer Gordon Rottman.
     
  • May 30 — Cookin’ with Kim
