Lone Star College-North Harris’ award-winning production of ‘Hand to God’ garnered several awards form the Kennedy Center American College Theater during the national festival held at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
Cash Carpenter, artistic director for LSC-North Harris Theatre Department, and the cast and crew of ‘Hand to God’ achieved the following accolades:
The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Awards 2018 Commendation:
- John Cash Carpenter For Distinguished Achievement in Production Design
- Brandi Hargrove For Distinguished Achievement in Production Design
- Victoria Herrera For Distinguished Achievement in Stage Management
- Jabe Reynolds for Distinguished Achievement in Performance of Pastor Greg
- Jose Moreno for Distinguished Achievement in Performance of Timmy
In addition, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts National Award for Distinguished Performance by an Actor in a Play was awarded to Nicholas Vitela for his performance as Jason/Tyrone.
Productions from universities and college invited to the eight regional festivals were eligible for recognition for national awards commendations celebrating outstanding achievement. Productions and individuals were recognized for outstanding and distinguished achievement in production, direction, choreography, design, performance and playwriting. Winners were chosen by a selection panel consisting of members of the KCACTF Executive and National Committees.
