Tomball Lions Club’s generous donation to help Tomball area students attend Lone Star College

For high school students who face increased competition for good paying jobs, Lone Star College-Tomball is a smart next step, offering a close to home community college education. And for those who may have thought college was out of reach, the Tomball Lions Club is providing a helping hand with a donation of $2,400 to Lone Star College Foundation.

“We are grateful, as always, to the Lions Club for their ongoing and generous support of Tomball area high school students who will be attending Lone Star College-Tomball,” said Dr. Lee Ann Nutt, LSC-Tomball president. “This donation will help to fund three Lone Star College scholarships for Tomball area high school students who will be attending LSC-Tomball.”

Lone Star College Foundation provides scholarship and support to help build stronger communities while The Lions Club believes that when we work together we can achieve bigger goals. Dr. Nutt recognizes the value of the united efforts, “the Lions Club’s contributions reflect the kind of connected and collaborative community we have, one that values education and each other.”

The mission of Lone Star College Foundation is to change lives through student scholarships and quality educational programs achieved by excellence in relationship building, fundraising and investment management.  Founded in 1991, the Foundation has provided over $14 million in scholarships to nearly 14,500 students, as well as more than $6 million in program support since its inception. LSC Foundation builds relationships with individuals, corporations and nonprofit organizations through a robust fundraising program that includes corporate partnerships, major gifts, employee giving and two special events, the annual Drive for Scholarships golf tournament and StarGala auction and dinner.
