STEMtastic Literacy Event is Back Nov. 13 with the Solar System, Ocean Life and More

Children ages 3-6 can enjoy learning Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) this November with the STEMtastic Literacy program at Lone Star College-CyFair.

In partnership with the Harris County Public Library’s LSC-CyFair Children’s Library, LSC-CyFair pre-service teachers will read and lead engaging activities that incorporate STEM concepts.

STEMtastic Literacy“This year’s STEMtastic Literacy program will encompass subjects such as the solar system, ecology, ocean life and much more. These future teachers chose children’s books that have meaning beyond the realm of STEM,” said Fay Lee, LSC-CyFair’s Lead Faculty for the Education Department. “Children will also learn about citizenship and our roles in our world today. My students are excited to teach our local children and to learn so much about teaching.”

This literacy program session will be held from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 in the children’s library at 9191 Barker Cypress.

Parents must accompany children at the session, which is limited to 30 participants. All participants are asked to arrive an hour in advance to receive a session ticket.
