Free L.I.F.E. Lessons on Chocolate, Crawfish Etouffée and More this February

Learn to reverse aging, test your chocolate knowledge, hear about historical patterns and enjoy a little Cajun culture this February at Lone Star College-CyFair.

The free Learning, Inspiration, Friendship and Enrichment (L.I.F.E.) programs are held Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the library (LRNC room 131 unless otherwise noted) at 9191 Barker Cypress.

  • February 6 - Reverse Aging the Natural Way
    Ellie Trinh of Gramen Farms and Skin Probiotics is back to help you keep your brain and body young and stress-free. Learn cutting-edge information on the gut, skin and oral microbiome. 
     
  • February 13 - Carol Ann and Claire’s 4th Annual Chocolate Extravaganza
    Test your knowledge of the iconic candy bars of your childhood with our chocolate quiz and crowning of the Chocolate King or Queen. 
     
  • February 20 - Taking a Stand 
    History repeats itself and Professor Tom Kelly shows the  recurring patterns of police brutality and civil rights issues by exploring the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City when two American athletes gave the Black Power salute when receiving their medals.
     
  • February 27 - Crawfish Etouffée
    Cajun culture aficionado, Scott Furtwengler, prepares this rich and exotic Louisianan dish to perfection while librarian, Jane Stimpson, fills us in on its history just in time for Mardi Gras (Tuesday, March 5.)
