Theater production earns state honors

Lone Star College–Tomball theater students received the highest honors and recognition at the Texas Community College Speech and Theatre Association Play Festival held recently at Lone Star College-Kingwood in Kingwood, TX.
The theater program production of "To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday" received a superior rating, the highest rating awarded. This is the fourth consecutive year that Lone Star College–Tomball has earned top honors at this competition. The entire cast also earned a superior rating for acting ensemble.

"I am so proud of the way our students, both actors and our technical crew, worked together to achieve this honor, said Sherri White, director of the theater program.

Excellent Acting:  Therese Crews

Superior Respondant Tech Award: Jared Barnes, original music

Excellent Respondant Tech Award: Anthony Silva, stage manager; Theresa Hunt, costumes; Hannah Pace, costumers; Matt Long, lights

Superior Director Tech Awards: Sara Brown, dramaturge and Assistant Director; Anthony Silva, stage manager; Theresa Hunt, costumes; Hannah Pace, costumes; Chaz Reyman, props.

Lone Star College–Tomball also won Excellence for Set up and Strike from the host schools.
