It's Not Too Late to Start

Think you missed your chance to start college this spring? Think again.

Although registration for the traditional 16-week spring semester at Lone Star College-Kingwood ended Saturday, January 10, the college offers a variety of second-start classes with start dates beginning January 26 through March. 

Second-start classes range from eight to 14 weeks in length. Students can register up to the first day of class and complete their course by the second week in May - or earlier depending on the course's length and start date.

A wide variety of second-start classes are offered, including some distance learning formats. Courses are designed to fit a broad range of academic goals toward certificates, associate's degrees or university transfer.

Course offerings include: Intro Biology I Non-Majors, Human Anatomy & Physiology I, Personal Finance, Micro-economics, Developmental Writing I and II, Developmental Writing I and II,  Composition & Rhetoric I and II, American Lit Colonial-Civil War, American Government I and II, U.S. History to 1877, U.S. History Since 1877, Medical Terminology I, Intro to Computers, Fitness for Life I and II, Weight Training I and II, Bowling I and II, Golf I and II, First Aid & Safety, Basketball I and II, Pre-algebra Math, Intro Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Medical Software Applications, Business English, General Psychology, Principles of Sociology, Beginning Spanish II, Forensic Activities I and II, Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Art Appreciation, Beginning French I, Intro to Multimedia, Principles of Marketing, General Psychology, Life-Growth/Development and Marriage & Family.

To assure the best selection, students are encouraged to register as early as possible. Students must enroll before the first class meets.

Register for second start classes in one of three ways: by phone, online or on campus.  Classes are offered days, evenings, or weekends in traditional, Internet, video, TV and independent study formats.
