The Fifth Annual International Education Conference (IEC) is set for Friday, April 18, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lone Star College-Tomball.
The annual IEC, hosted by the Lone Star College System and the Gulf Coast International Education Consortium, is open to all faculty, administrators, community leaders, and college and high school students in the Texas Gulf Coast region and is an opportunity to discuss global issues and highlight best practices in international education.
The theme of this year's conference is Global Issues: Economy, Energy, Environment. The event will include a variety of presentations on international topics and exhibitors, as well as a poster contest for community college students from across the state.
Emmy award winning Channel 13 news anchor Art Rascon will be the conference's opening speaker and Associate Director of the Center for International Energy and Environmental Policy (CIEEP) at the University of Texas at Austin Dr. Michael E. Webber will give the keynote address on Brazil's Ethanol fuel program.
