Published on: March 30, 2007Lone Star College–CyFair Emergency Services Education Center’s Chili Family Fest, set April 14 from 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., is an annual fund-raising event that includes something for everyone in the family.
Among the attractions are children’s activities, fire trucks, concessions, raffle and Life Flight helicopter.
The day also features live entertainment including a 10:45 a.m. Lone Star College–CyFair Dance Team performance and at 12:30 p.m., Percussion One, a drumline performance. The Firefighter Combat Challenge, which begins at 1:30 p.m., tests the cadets’ skills in various competitions.
And of course, the chili cook off will determine winners of the “Best” and “Wurst” chili as well as a variety of other categories. Judging begins at 11 a.m. and for $3 a cup, community members can be one of the judges, tasting all the entries and voting on the winners.
All proceeds benefit the Lone Star College–CyFair Emergency Services Scholarship Fund.
