Published on: March 05, 2007Lone Star College-Kingwood's Academy for Lifelong Learning recently offered a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Information Session. Individuals learned about the CERT Program which educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills. The program is designed to teach people to take care of themselves before the first responders can arrive. Major Craig Favalora (right), a volunteer with the USCS (United States Chaplainís Service) and certified CERT trainer, presented the course along with Chaplain (Col.) R. C.
