Published on: March 28, 2007Rehearsals are underway as students from the Lone Star College-Kingwood Drama Department busily prepare for the upcoming stage production, “An Evening of Shorts,” the college’s third annual ten-minute play festival. Come see six original short plays that have never been produced on stage before. Selected playwrights from across the nation will have a chance to see their works being directed, acted, and designed by Lone Star College-Kingwood students.
Performances run April 19-22 at 8 p.m., in the Student Fine Arts Building Performing Arts Center. In addition, there will be matinee performances on April 21 and 22 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for seniors (55+) and $5 for students, available at the door. Selections include: Aviation Blonde by Mark Dietrich Wyss of Milwaukee, WI, directed by Jordan Real; The Hanging Judges by Edward Crosby Wells of Denver, CO, directed by Josh Heinrichs; Last Stop by Jenny Connell of Austin, TX, directed by John Schauf; Pitching Alaska by Ian Grody of New York, NY, directed by Kiki Hortman; Tales from the Titanic by Henry Kimmel of Atlanta, GA, directed by Veronica LaCombe; and The Things She Kept by Aoise Stratford of Ithaca, NY, directed by Chenika Fowler.
Registration has begun for Lone Star College-Kingwood summer classes. The first session of summer classes begins June 4 and ends July 10. The second summer session begins July 12 and ends Aug. 16.
