Discovery College 2007

Are you looking for something fun for your child to do this summer? Enroll your child in Discovery College 2007...a kid's learning paradise and fun summer of enrichment!

This Lone Star College-Kingwood summer youth program provides students an opportunity to enhance existing talents or develop new ones through a variety of classes that encourage hands-on participation in age-appropriate groups that make learning not just fun, but irresistible.

Knowledgeable instructors - usually certified teachers - will lead classes in a variety of subject areas with curriculum developed to encourage learning in a relaxed and creative atmosphere.

Students can choose among fun and educational activities such as: Sign Language, Safety, Study Skills and Spanish, not to mention Math, Movie Making, Creative Writing, Robotiks and Etiquette.  New courses being offered this year include Pep Squad, What's Cooking, Schoolyard Games, Skateboard Factory, and Biotechnology:  A Hand's On Experience for ages 12 - 14 taught by Dr. Brian Shmaefsky.

Discovery College began over 20 years ago with three course offerings intended to inspire students to think about their future in higher education. Creative instructors were encouraged to present learning challenges in math, art, music, drama, sports and life skills.  Today, Discovery College 2007 offers 45 one-week courses for ages 6 - 14, beginning June 4 and ending on August 9.

Classes fill quickly and early registration is recommended. Parents may register their children now for Discovery College 2007. Payments must be received at registration and are on a first-come basis. Incomplete registrations will not be processed until all information is provided.
