Lone Star College-CyFair Drama Department, in collaboration with Houston’s Center Stage Theater, will hold open auditions for the summer teen show “High School Musical 2” at 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Friday, May 8 and 10 a.m.- noon Saturday, May 9.

This new high energy show, an adaption of the Disney Channel’s sequel to the wildly popular “High School Musical,” follows the Wildcats from East High School into their summer months at Lava Springs Country Club. Much like the original, this play provides many musical numbers and dance numbers and colorful costuming, putting their talent to the ultimate test. True to Disney form, there is much misunderstanding along the way, but in the end, friendship and love prevail.

Director Daria James seeks a cast of teens to young adults for this summer’s co-production, which will be on stage July 17 through July 26.

The May 8 and May 9 auditions are open to the community and will be held in the Main Stage Theatre, located in LSC-CyFair’s Center for the Arts building on the Barker Cypress campus at 9191 Barker Cypress. Audition callbacks will be held Monday, May 11.
