Lone Star College-Kingwood’s Career Services thanks local businesses for attending its Community Job Fair on May 17.
At the event, job seekers had the opportunity to meet hiring managers from Insperity, BBVA Compass, Edward Jones, Harris County Public Health Department, Marriott Marquis Houston, Cameo Caregivers, Hertz, Puragraft, Talent Logic, Academy Sports + Outdoors, Clubhouse Playcare, FINS, Hokulia Shave Ice of Humble, Houston Fire Dept., Houston Police Depart., ISS Facility Services, Kids R Kids, Lake Houston YMCA, Lowe's Home Improvement, US Army, Whataburger, Westex Security Services, Optimal Wireless, AmeriCorps, and Steep Creek Media. There were more than100 people who attended the job fair including LSC-Kingwood students and alumni, community members and a few high school students.
“Career Services provides programs and services to help our students every step of their college career,” said Kim Hammond, career services employment specialist. “Not only do we host job fairs, but we help individuals explore different career paths, write and revise resumes, prepare for job interviews, and transition to new careers.”
A part of LSC-Kingwood’s Student Services Division, Career Services organizes community job fairs, like this one, as part of its “From Admission to Position” mission. Located in the Student Conference Center, Student Services provides ongoing initiatives that empower students to reach their personal and academic goals. The team believes in investing in students through innovative programs, so they possess every tool necessary to be successful.
