Local businesses invited to participate in job fair
Kim Hammond, career services employment specialist, and Jill Todd, career counseling manager, are organizing the Community Job Fair at LSC-Kingwood. The fair is on May 18 from 2-4 p.m. in the Student Conference Center.

College students and the public looking for employment or a different career path are invited to explore their options at Lone Star College-Kingwood.

The college’s Career Services department will hold a Community Job Fair on Wednesday, May 18 from 2-4 p.m. in the Student Conference Center (SCC). Local businesses that are currently hiring full-time, part-time, internships and seasonal employees are invited to participate.

“We are excited to connect our May 2016 graduates with local career opportunities,” said Kim Hammond, career services employment specialist. “But, we also have many dedicated students looking for summer internships, and others searching for part-time and full-time jobs while they work their way through college.”

Participation in the event is free, but registration is required. To qualify, businesses must have a store front/office location and pay an hourly wage. (Businesses conducted from a home office and businesses with commission-only positions are asked not to participate in this event.)

“This is a great forum to connect with LSC-Kingwood students and recruit a local work force,” said Jill Todd, career services program manager. Hammond added, “While our job fairs focus on local employment opportunities for students, they are also open to the public.”

Space is limited and early registration is recommended. To register for the Community Job Fair, contact Kim Hammond at 281-312-1624 or email Kingwood.CareerServices@LoneStar.edu.
