Lone Star College-Kingwood’s goal is to provide students with a quality education and resources for potential employment.
The college’s Career Services department will host its fall community Job Fair on Sept. 13 from 12-2 p.m. in the Student Conference Center (SCC). The fair will feature local businesses that have employment opportunities for students.
“Local businesses that are currently hiring full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees are invited to participate,” said Jill Todd, career services program manager. “This is a great forum to connect with LSC-Kingwood students and recruit a local work force.”
Businesses registered to attend include Academy Sports and Outdoors, Cameo Caregivers, Gadget MD, Harris County Public Health and Environmental Services, Hokulia Shave Ice, Home Depot, Houston Fire Department, Isle at Kingwood, Lake Houston Family YMCA, Lone Star College, Marriott, Parkmanor of Humble, Pines Montessori School, Sam’s Club, Shiftgig, Silverado Assisted Living, Splendora ISD, Staff Force Personnel Services, and Talent Logic/Nortek Medical.
“We are dedicated to helping students make informed decisions about their career choices, and connecting them with opportunities in our community,” Todd said.
Participation in the event is free, but registration is required. To qualify, businesses must have a store front/office location and pay an hourly wage as required by law. Businesses conducted from a home office and businesses with commission-only positions are asked not to participate in this event. Space is limited and early registration is recommended.
LSC-Kingwood’s Career Services department hosts two job fairs each semester and provides free resources to students and the business community. Career Services is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and is located in SCC room 205.
