LSC-Kingwood Invites Businesses to Participate in Job Fair
Jill Todd, right, and Kim Hammond, with LSC-Kingwood’s Career Services department, invite local businesses to host a booth at Job Connections Day on Thursday, Sept. 3, 12-2 p.m., in LSC-Kingwood’s Student-Conference Center. For more information or to register, call 281-312-1624 or email Kingwood.CareerServices@LoneStar.edu.

Local businesses that are hiring full-time, part-time or seasonal employees are invited to participate in the Job Connections Day on Sept. 3 at Lone Star College-Kingwood. Hosted by the Career Services department, this job fair will present employment opportunities for students. The event will be held from 12-2 p.m. in the Student Conference Center (SCC).

“This is a great forum to connect with LSC-Kingwood students and recruit conscientious, motivated employees,” said Jill Todd, career services program manager.

Participation in the event is free, but registration is required. To qualify, businesses must have a store front/office location and pay an hourly wage as required by law. Businesses conducted from a home office and businesses with commission-only positions are asked not to participate in this event. Space is limited and early registration is recommended.

LSC-Kingwood’s Career Services department hosts two job fairs a semester and provides free resources to students and the business community. Career Services is dual purposed. It guides students in choosing an appropriate major or career path and assists them in job readiness skills such as creating quality resumes, searching for job opportunities and preparing for job interviews.

“We are dedicated to helping students make informed decisions about their career choices, and connecting them with opportunities in our community,” Todd said.

Career Services, located in SCC room 205, is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information, to register for Job Connections Day or to post an ad on the campus job board, contact call 281-312-1624 or email Kingwood.CareerServices@LoneStar.edu.
