AntonovMake Valentine’s Day special by attending a romantic concert at Lone Star College-Kingwood.

Acclaimed pianist Avguste Antonov will perform 19th- 21st century romantic piano favorites on Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall (MUS 101). This performance is part of the music department’s ongoing Artist Recital Series, which brings in professional musicians throughout the academic year.

“We are incorporating romanticism into our February calendar,” said Jay Whatley, music department chair. “Antonov’s performance will be romantic in every sense of the word.”

The recital will feature the works of Chopin, Rachmaninoff, as well as, several contemporary works by modern composers. General admission tickets are $10. Patrons are invited to attend an artist’s reception following the performance.

“I can’t think of a better way to treat your valentine,” Whatley said. “Experiencing romantic music at its best will be the perfect addition to your valentine’s date night”

In addition to the evening concert, the Kingwood-Humble Music Teachers Association and LSC-Kingwood’s music department have joined forces to co-sponsor a master class for intermediate and advanced piano students. The free master class will be held on Feb. 14 from 1-3 p.m. in the Recital Hall.
