Student Life & Organizations
Lone Star College-Carver Center has many student-focused events throughout the academic year.  Watch for campus fliers and banners announcing upcoming events and workshops.

Carver Center students are encouraged to participate in the many student organizations available at Lone Star College-North Harris.  If you are interested in forming or joining a student organization at LSC-Carver Center, please contact Shanna Keene at 281.618.5820.

Adult Education
At Carver Center, the Adult Education / GED Program prepare students whose basic educational skills need improvement before they can enroll in GED classes or who need to enhance their employment situation through employability skills instruction.

Instruction at these centers is open to adults who do not have a high school diploma and to those needing to improve their reading, writing, and math skills. English as a Second Language
Basic ESL classes at Carver Center are designed to instruct non-native English speaking students who primarily want to learn to communicate in English to enhance their work and academic skills.  Basic English classes are free of charge.  For more information, please call 281.260.3576.

Counseling
Counseling services are located in Rm. 118. Students are encouraged to come in and speak with an advisor for degree planning, course scheduling, and assessment. Please call 281.618.5830 for assistance.

Financial Aid
Financial aid advisors are now taking applications for the 2009-2010 academic year. The priority deadline is April 1 so please submit all materials as quickly as you can. See the Financial Aid section for more information.

Financial (monetary) assistance is available in the form of:

 Grant  Money you don't have to pay back.
 Loan  Borrowed money you do have to pay back with interest.
 Work Study  Allows you to earn money to help with school expenses.
 Scholarship  Money awarded based on merit, need, or other specified criteria.
