  • Courses
    Most of the courses offered in hospitality will transfer to the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston. For dual credit students several area school districts offer high school courses in hospitality and can earn up to six hours of college credit. As part of the degree curriculum, students will enroll in cooperative education (paid internship) where they will have the opportunity to practice classroom skills in the workplace.

    Beginning salaries depend on your skills, education, and the level you start at within a hotel or restaurant, but earnings can range from entry-level wages to six figures according to the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute.

    Front desk management $26,000 — 44,000               |     Restaurant management $26,500 — 40,000
    Convention center management $30,000 — 50,000    |     Hotel management $42,000 with bonuses of up to 25% of salary

    This is the recommended sequence of courses. If you plan on taking the courses in a different order, you must ensure that all prerequisites are met for each course. This is a two semester program; not all courses are offered both semesters.
