Licensure and Accreditation
In order to practice as a physical therapist assistant (PTA), a person must be licensed by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. To take the PTA licensing exam, a person must be a graduate of a PTA educational program which is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. The program received re-accreditation in April 2007. Lone Star College-Montgomery PTA Program Student Outcome Data based on CAPTE AAR submitted in Fall 2017 for Academic Years ending in 2016 and 2017.
Graduation Rate: This rate is calculated according to the CAPTE formula required in the AAR (which is consistent with the formula used by the federal Integrated Post-secondary Education Data System) for the class of 2016 and 2017.
Licensure Rate: This rate is published by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy and is current as of 7/1/2018.
Employment Rate: This rate is the % of graduates who were employed as PTAs within twelve months of passing the licensure examination and is current as of 7/1/2018.
