Lone Star College (LSC) and local Independent School Districts (ISD) have partnered to design high school courses geared to develop college-level mathematics skills, integrated reading and writing skills, and study skills to promote academic success. Through a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), high school students are eligible to receive credit by successfully completing one or more college prep courses at their high school corresponding with the following LSC courses: MATH 0308, MATH 0310, ENGL 0309 and/or EDUC 1300. Students must receive a “B” or higher in the College Prep Math and English courses and a “C” in the Student Success course in order to earn credit. LSC will post credit earn through the PLA process as “CR” on the college transcript.

Students are not required to meet criteria and guidelines common to other types of prior learning assessments. However, to receive credit, students must complete the following items within the first long semester after high school graduation:
