CELTA Program

The Alternative Teacher Certification Programs are intensive 12-24 month programs for individuals who hold a bachelor's degree or higher and are new to the teaching profession. We provide high-quality training for individuals seeking to obtain Texas Teacher Certification without going back to a university for a second degree. The ATCPs are approved by the State Board for Educator Certification and are available at all five campuses.

Our Continuing Education offerings for teaching include a substitute teacher certificate. This non-credit certificate is only available at LSC-Kingwood.

The CELTA program has been designed primarily to prepare teachers for adult education, credit and continuing education ESOL classes in the USA and overseas. This program is a Continuing Education option only available at LSC-CyFair.
