Teen Driver Education
Thanks for visiting the LSC-North Harris Teen Driver Education Page. This class will prepare students to sit for the Texas driver permit examination administered through the Texas DPS. Upon COMPLETION, students will be issued a DE-964E form required by DPS to satisfy the 32 hours of in-classroom instruction required by the State of Texas and necessary for a student to apply for a Texas Driver's Permit.
Course Requirements
- Traffic Safety Education Student Manual must be purchased (available at campus bookstore).
- Questions 1-84 must be answered from the handbook provided (2 sets of 42 questions).
- Pass the road rules & road signs quizes with a 70 or higher.
- Have a grade average of 70 or higher at the end of the course.
- Come to class with paper and a pen or pencil each day.
- Regardless of the perfect attendance, the certificated (DE964) will not be issued until all course requirements are met.
Classroom Behavior
- Appropriate clothing and shoes should be worn to class.
- Snacks and sodas are allowed so long as trash is disposed of properly. Do not bring hamburgers, sandwiches, or other major food items. Do not ask that pizza be delivered to the classroom.
- Please do not put your feet and/or shoes in the chairs or rock back in the chairs. This is hard on the furniture and inappropriate classroom behavior.
- No sleeping is allowed. Turn off cell phones. No music devices.
- Do not work on homework assignments, read books, or write letters to friends.
- Disruptive students will be sent home or the campus police will be summoned if necessary.
