Congratulations on your decision to attend college! You have applied to LSC-Tomball and now it is time to take the TSI placement test to determine what classes you may now register.

IMPORTANT: Your performance on the placement test will indicate whether you are ready for college-level reading/writing and math or whether you first have to take Developmental Studies courses. A little prep work can go a long way in refreshing your skill set and giving you the best opportunity to place into college-level classes from the start.

Follow the steps below learn what resources the LSC-Tomball Extended Learning Center has to offer you as you prepare for the placement test.  Studying for the placement test may provide you more class options and give you a head start towards your academic goals.

STEP 1:

After receiving your Testing Ticket from the Advising Office, visit the LSC-Tomball Assessment Center and ask to take the diagnostic test.  This test costs $5 and the results will indicate the areas in which you need most improvement. The Diagnostic test is inexpensive and could potentially save you money in the long run.

STEP 2:

Bring your Diagnostic test results to the Extended Learning Center. There you will meet with a Learning Specialist who will review the results of Diagnostic test and direct you to the academic support staff that will best be able to assist you in the areas in which you are most deficient.

STEP 3:

Once you've completed your test prep plan, schedule a placement test date.

STEP 4:

After you receive your Placement test scores, visit an advisor once again to be placed in appropriate classes.
