This annex aims to outline how Lone Star College will provide appropriate information and instructions to the LSC community and the general public before real-life simulation training and during emergencies. And provide advance notice of emergencies to reduce the likelihood of LSC employees, students, and guests placing themselves in hazardous situations.

Concept of Operations

According to NIMS operating principles and protocols, public information efforts should focus on specific event-related information. Generally, this information will be instructional, focusing on preparedness, warnings, evacuations, and shelters. Appendix 1 describes some basic emergency information needs.

Keeping the LSC community informed of the progress of events is essential. Regarding emergency response, reporting positive information will assure the LSC community that the situation is under control.

Educational efforts are to increase public awareness about potential hazards and how people should prepare for them.
