Soul Sessions

Faith and Spirituality: The LSC-Tomball Soul Sessions is a series that was created by Professor Cory Colby who also co-hosts the sessions with Dr. Margaret Jelinek Lewis. The series is rooted in an honest effort to create community and feed the human spirit through understanding and interaction with those in our society who are likely to be misunderstood, stereotyped, or struggle to communicate the message and foundations of their faiths effectively. Through a series of 10 questions asked to each guest, representatives of six major world faiths who in the U.S. each make up less than three percent of the population share from their hearts and experiences about their faith.

Student Success Institute (SSI)

The Student Success Initiative creates academic, work ready and transfer pathway opportunities that will prepare students to persist, complete, and maximize their contributions to society.

Student Veterans Organization (SVO)

SVO aims to inform veterans and their families of their benefits in order to help them successfully transition into college and civilian life. SVO plans to network, build relationships and mentor with one another in order to provide support and camaraderie for all members. SVO would also like to service our community by offering our time, support and spreading newly gained information to local veterans and their families.

SWATS

The purpose of SWATS is to assist young women in college seeking an outlet to promote positivity in their lives as they go through school. This group focuses on empowering, encouraging and motivating young ladies

TRiO

The Federal TRiO programs (TRiO) are Federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services to individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRiO originally began as 3 programs (thus the term TRiO was coined), but today includes nine programs targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to postbaccalaureate programs.
