Kyle Scott, Ph.D., serves at Lone Star College as the vice chancellor of Strategic Priorities which include LSC Foundation, Government Relations, the Office of Marketing & Communications, LSC Small Business Development Center, and the Office of Web Services.
Kyle began his professional career as a high school teacher and coach before entering graduate school. After earning his Ph.D. in 2005, Kyle taught at several universities before leaving full-time teaching duties to pursue a career in the private sector where he was a successful business owner and also served as a Lone Star College Board of Trustees member from 2013-2018.
The Division of Strategic Priorities raises awareness about the transformational impact Lone Star College has on the individuals and community it serves and ensures that everyone has access to the opportunities LSC provides.
The mission of Lone Star College Foundation is to change lives through student scholarships and quality educational programs achieved by excellence in relationship building, fundraising and investment management.
LSC Government Relations keeps senior LSC administrators current on existing and proposed legislation and works to promote legislative efforts that advance higher education agendas by meeting with local, state and federal government.
The Office of Marketing and Communication leads the planning, creation and implementation of Lone Star College marketing, external communications and brand management goals, policies and initiative. MarCom also provides support and direction for marketing LSC to important audiences.
The LSC SBDC provides business advising, access to training, tools and resources to help small businesses start, grow, expand and succeed. Designated as one of Texas’s top business assistance programs, the LSC SBDC is one of 14 centers from Lufkin to Lake Jackson that serves 32 counties in southeast Texas.
The Office of Web Services uses digital media to connect our entire community to educational opportunities and resources that can change their lives. Each year LoneStar.edu has more than 30 million unique pageviews and approaches speeds of 200 pageviews per minute.
