Voting in COVID19 Times

Don’t let COVID19 discourage you from voting!

Polling sites will be following social distancing rules and will be constantly sanitizing the voting stations. You will most likely receive a disposable glove or a finger cover to cast your vote. By state mandate, you must bring your face mask.

Lone Star College partners with Democracy Works to provide a mechanism that allows students, staff, and faculty to register to vote. TurboVote is a reliable and non-partisan online tool that provides all the information you need to exercise your right to vote.

If you are a new voter or you have moved since the last time you voted, follow the next steps:

  1. Go to LoneStar.TurboVote.org/Register
  2. Fill out a voter registration card that will then be mailed to you with an addressed stamped envelope (but hurry, time is ticking!)
  3. When you receive it, sign it, place it in the envelope and mail it before October 5th.
  4. The form will be processed by the Texas Secretary of State and you will become a registered voter!
  5. Once you have registered, TurboVote will send you text reminders, information about election days and polling place locations (you can opt out at any time).
