Area of Concentration in International Studies



This AOC requires a minimum of 15 credit hours in courses that have the International Studies (IS) designation. 

Students must complete at least 50% of the courses towards the degree within Lone Star College to receive the AOC designation.


To earn an Area of Concentration in IS, students must take at least 15 credit hours in IS-designated courses.

HIST 2322 World History from 1492 3
PHIL 1304 Introduction to World Religions 3

A student may also include one (1) foreign language course (3-4 credit hours). In addition, many core courses have been internationalized—from English to History to Art and Sciences.
