Employee Giving Campaign celebrates LSC's 50th Anniversary

LSC-Montgomery employees hand out treats during Employee Giving Campaign.

LSC employees from across the 1,400 square mile system participated in the Annual Employee Giving Campaign, this year celebrating LSC's 50th anniversary, and raised over $160,000. To date, employees have supported Lone Star College with more than $1 million in donations!

"Employee Giving is a great way for LSC employees to demonstrate their commitment to students and each other, as well as the culture of caring in which we work. We are so grateful to all of the employee volunteers who worked hard in promoting the Campaign, as well as all of the employee donors, for making such a positive impact on student success through their support!" said Susan Summers, CFRE, Director of Donor Relations.

Business units across the eight colleges and system office were led by volunteer ambassadors who created fun events to encourage employee participation. At these events, employees enjoyed some snacks, played games and learned more about how employee support benefits students and programs at Lone Star College. This year's theme celebrated the college's 50th anniversary. Overall, 31% of employees chose to give this year.

Whether through payroll deduction or one-time gifts, employees have the option to support specific academic and workforce programs, student scholarships, or emergency funds. Over the years, employee contributions have started several endowments that generate student scholarships in perpetuity and funded minor emergency relief to students and employees in need.
